Meet Kevin


Kevin is a lifelong public servant born and raised in the community he represents. Born in Allston, he went to high school at St. Columbkille and graduated from Boston College. He was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1987, and continued his education at Lesley University (MMS, ‘91) and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government (MPA, ‘99) as a Rappaport Urban Scholar while working full-time as a State Representative.

Throughout his career, Kevin has been a progressive voice in the legislature and a dedicated representative for his community. Prior to serving the 17th Suffolk District, he coordinated summer youth employment programs in Boston and worked with Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) to help educate low-income and senior residents about weatherization. With over thirty years of experience, he is the longest continuously serving legislator in the State House. He lives in Brighton with his wife Colleen. They have one daughter, Molly.
